Regional Finance Lead

Our client seeks a Regional Finance Lead to join their team.
 
You will oversee the Global Financial Planning and Analysis “FP&A”, as well as management of the Isle of Man local finance and relevant regional teams in order to perform all aspects of the financial management and accounting function for applicable regional entities, including owned and managed vessel accounting.
 
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within a soft commodity trading business and bring knowledge of the industry to the role. You will need excellent interpersonal and management skills and the ability to achieve strict deadlines.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Global Financial Planning and Analytics Oversight
  • Proactive oversight and development of business performance data analytics using automation and latest technology tools
  • Ownership of the global annual budget and reforecasting processes
  • Work with the Managing Director on financial review and strategy for relevant regions
  • Oversight and management of all financial aspects for relevant regional entities
  • Compliance with US GAAP and Management reporting requirements within required deadlines
  • Compliance with, and enhancement of, the accounts reporting and control environment within a SOX compliant setting
  • Balance Sheet control and accuracy
  • Review and sign off of regionally managed entities financial supporting schedules
  • Statutory reporting including tax and regulatory compliance for regionally managed entities
  • Financial performance review and commentary for managed regions and entities
  • Management of accounting for owned, leased and chartered vessel and freight accounting
  • Treasury management including cash efficiency, liquidity, currency hedge back office execution and accounting, as well as trade related product control
  • Liaison and information provision for internal and external auditors
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment of commercial strategies with business processes
  • Interaction & review with related teams to ensure alignment & consistency
  • International and regional travel when required
 
Key Skills & Experience
  • A recognised accounting qualification degree, CA, ACCA, ACA or CPA - with 10+ years' relevant practical experience.
  • Any US GAAP and or Global Group reporting experience would be beneficial
  • Experience within a soft commodity trading business with a deep understanding of related accounting of physical supply contracts, derivatives trading and currency exposures
  • Demonstrable experience with industrial commodity milling, crushing operations and related accounting considerations
  • Treasury and Counterparty risk management experience is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team leadership and people management skills essential
  • Demonstrable technology and MS365 proficiency with any automation, Power BI data analytics or AI/ML exposure essential
  • Ability to work flexibly to strict time deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills to manage and prioritise tasks in order to achieve deadlines
