Market Compliance Analyst

Our client seeks a Market Compliance Analyst to join their team.
 
You'll provide administration of energy market compliance and reporting against relevant
regulations/legislation.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Progress and achieve agreed objectives effectively within specified timescales
  • Assist the Department in delivering objectives identified collectively within the Service Delivery Plan
  • Under supervision, to assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with new and existing industry
  • legislation, so that contractual arrangements and business rules are applied and maintained properly
  • Monitor changes to industry codes and report relevant changes to Management and, under supervision, developing systems or updating procedures as required
  • Provide supporting information and analysed data sets for management reports as required
  • Monitor business critical metadata contained in the database and applications
  • Monitor financial risk from trading activities, such as forward hedging and ancillary service bidding
  • Review procedures to ensure day-to-day operations are compliant with contracts and legislation and keep document management controls up to date
  • Cover certain duties of the rest of the team during normal periods of absence on request
  • Undertake occasional out-of-office hours duties if required (subject to agreement with line management) to support the team covering periods of absence
  • Represent the Company at industry events. By agreement this may require travel and possible overnight stays off-island
 
Key Skills & Experience
  • A Level or further education in English, Maths or Science based subjects
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team to deliver agreed objectives
  • Competent user of IT systems
  • A proactive, flexible and “can do” attitude
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Be able to work to challenging timescales under pressure
  • A willingness to continuously develop by undergoing new and refresher training
  • Detail focused and ability to identify changes to numerical and text references
  • Knowledge and experience of UK Energy market regulations
  • Experience with legal agreements, route-to-market contracts and/or legislation
  • Knowledge of policy making processes and experience in analysing and distilling complex regulatory documents would be desirable
  • Reliable and trustworthy, with high levels of integrity and a firm grasp of professional ethics
